Property: Relatively stable in neutral, weakly acidic and weakly alkaline media. Rapidly hydrolyzed by strong acids and bases. Stable under normal storage condition in original container for at least two years. Solubility in water 6.2mg/l (pH 7, 20C), in ethanol 570, acetone 1500, toluene 130, n-octanol 390, n-hexane 3.1 (all in mg/l, 25C).
Usage: Simazine is a selective triazine herbicide. Pre-emergence or early post-emergence herbicide effective against most annual broad leave weeds and annual grasses in maize, sugar cane, banana, pineapple etc.
